Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the top ten and finally parting ways with former trainer his previous coach.
Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
It is his initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface since March of the previous year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first tour title, took control to push for a final set.
He rescued 4 early chances in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
